Hi I'm David

I am an engineer, I love to be outside, I love to travel.

About Me

I am a petroleum engineer and I love to be active. Being outside is the best place to be. Hiking, running, climbing, kayaking, snowshoeing, snowboarding... i will try pretty well anything! I am analytical and ambitious and the restored gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to find balance and a happiness in my day to day life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have felt the soft yet sure witness of the Holy Ghost whisper to my soul as I have lived the principles as taught through the restored gospel. I have felt that same witness as I have knelt and prayed, and I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is inspired.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as my ward membership clerk trying to help our wonderful bishopric manage the 25 hours a day they put into us. I am not the best home-teacher YET, but I am getting better at visiting and sharing gospel experiences with other ward members and get much more than I give to do it.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

The church is divided into organizations based on geographical location; a ward is 100-300 people that are looked after by a bishop and two councilors. I attend a Young Single Adult (YSA) ward where we are further separated as a demographic of 18-30 year old singles. Many of us are students and many work, but we have a great opportunity to associate with each other and find strength to live according to correct principles. Stakes are groupings of several wards and can be entire cities! Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

Our spirits and bodies are separated for a time and we go to a place of waiting, working, learning - essentially a place where we live after the manner in which we now live! Finding joy and happiness in living eternal gospel principles, or being weighed down by our sins - it all depends on how we learn to live our lives! Eventually we will be resurrected with perfect bodies and stand before Jesus to be judged of our actions, thoughts, and desires and awarded a kingdom proportional to that judgement.
