Hi I'm John

I'm a Disney fan, I love painting happy clouds, I'm a singer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Salt Lake City, Utah. I have one sister who is 18 months younger than me and I have the best parents in the world. I am currently serving a mission for the Mormon church and I am loving every minute of it. I love life. I consider myself a huge optomist and I firmly believe life should never be too serious. I love making people laugh and making them feel loved. I love the arts. I love singing and painting. I love traveling and I have been blessed to go to many wonderful places over the years.  If there is anyone who knows me in the slightest they will probably tell you that I am a huge Disney fan. I love the movies, music, shows, and especially the theme parks. It is a huge part of my life and it always puts a smile on someones face when I spout off a random Disney fact. I joke with people that I live in Utah, but my home is Disneyland.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon has brought me so much happiness in my life. The gospel teaches us to come unto Christ and be like him. I know that by following Christ we live righteous lives and by doing so we are so happy. Being a Mormon I am constatnly encouraged to improve myself for the better. Through modern revelation Christ's church is once again upon the earth and I am so grateful to be a part of it. I know that if I was not Mormon my life would be completely different and I am sure I would be deprived of that joy that I feel now as a member. I know that God lives and he is our Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ is our Savior, example, and brother nad he has unending love for us. The Holy Ghost truly is the Comforter and I have felt that peace in my life. Life is just wonderful to me being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by acting upon it. The way I do this is by striving to live as Jesus did. Obviously, no one is perfect, but we have the ability to constantly change and develop ourselves so that we align what we do with the will of Heavenly Father. This is a constant process for me and yet it is so optomistic to be able to change the way you act for the better. We live in such a busy age that we can easily be distracted from the things that really matter. My faith is always rejuvenated by attending church each Sunday, praying often, and reading the scriptures. We cannot do it alone and I know if I did not have faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ I would feel very lost. Faith really keeps me going it is the seed that leads to action and I have seen so many blessing and felt so much comfort because of the the I live.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

John
No. We do not worship Joseph Smith. We worship God and his son Jesus Christ. We are very grateful for Joseph Smith and his establishing Christ's church upon the earth once more. The Prophet Joseph Smith was crucial to the Restoration and he was the one who translated the Book of Mormon. We are grateful for what he taught and for his sacrafice to bring about the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ once more. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

John
The temple is a very sacred place. It is literally the Lord's house on earth today. For this reason we must be worthy to enter. There is nothing secret going on, just very sacred. I like to think of it in this way. If you have a very special, personal experience you are not likely to go shout about it from the rooftop of your home. In the temple we make promises to our Heavenly Father and that relationship is very personal. If you ask Mormons about the temple they will be very open with you as to the purpose of temples and why we build them. Show more Show less
