Hi I'm Erin

I grew up as a member of the LDS Faith. Both my parents & husband are converts to the Church.

About Me

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know my life is fuller because of my faith in Jesus Christ, my association with other members of the Church and mostly because living what I have been taught brings me happiness. My husband and I were married 3 years ago. We live near Pittsburgh and have two Great Danes. I am a massage therapist and I specialize in therapeutic massage for humans, horses and canines. This last year I found I had cancer. It came as a huge blow to my husband and I. The news was hard because I didn't know what was worse, having cancer or knowing I would not be able to bear children. Through it all it was my faith that sustained me. For now the cancer has been defeated and the bright horizon of adoption is near. We hope in the next year!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus is the Christ. It is my personal relationship with him that helps me everyday, every hour, every moment of my life. I know he lives and that his atonement is real. The things this church teaches only serve to bring me and my family closer to him. There is so much more! Much more! Yet it all comes back to my Savior.

How I live my faith

My faith is very personal to me. It starts in my home. With myself and my husband. We spend time each day together and on our own developing our knowledge of Christ and his teachings. Prayer is a big part of my life and it is where I feel closest to my Savior and Father in Heaven. Where I live there are fewer members of our Church. So there is a great opportunity to help serve others. I currently serve in the Relief Society. I am an Education Councilor in the Relief Society Presidency. I serve others and help them develop their knowledge spiritually and temporarily. I also serve the women in the church by assisting them with anything they might need. From helping them to move, or taking dinner. Sometimes the best service is lending a listening ear. When I serve others I feel the closest to my Savior. I feel love towards my fellow men and women.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

I am a massage therapist and every day I work with human bodies of all ages and builds. I never stop marveling at the creation of the human body. Because of this I believe even more that this body was a gift to us from a loving Father in Heaven. Our bodies house our spirits and were created by God. As such they are temples and need to be treated as such. Besides, treating our bodies as temples means a life with less pain, discomfort or illness. This practice is both an inward and outward thing. It includes what we eat and drink, how we dress, and our physical actions. Show more Show less
