Hi I'm James

I grew up in Salt Lake City. I love good food, good friends, and a good rainstorm. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as the third child in a family of seven kids. My dad raised us to enjoy yard work, hiking, and camping. I love being active and exploring the outdoors. I'm also an avid rugby fan, having played it for five of my teenage years. I studied accounting in college, and am now working full-time as a consultant. Most of all, I love people. I love making new friends, learning from their experiences, and sharing a laugh with those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in a loving environment. My faith in the gospel grew from watching the wonderful examples of my friends and family. Trusting in the words of those I looked up to, I followed their path of faith and obedience. I tested the gospel through applying it in my life. From my experience as a missionary in England, and from learning through personal challenges, I now have a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and His restored Church. I know that Jesus Christ lives because I have felt His love comfort me in times of difficulty. I also know that the Bible and Book of Mormon are the word of God because whenever I read them sincerely, I have a strong desire to change for the better. I also know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Savior's Church on the earth today. During my service as a missionary in England, I saw the confusion that results from so many different interpretations of the Bible. I came to understand how the world really does need a prophet on the earth today. Fortunately, God did send a prophet, Joseph Smith, to restore the gospel truths that were lost since Jesus Christ and the Apostles were killed. I know this is true because I have felt the Holy Spirit enlighten me and teach me these truths.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to strengthen my relationship with my Heavenly Father, family, and friends. I build my relationship with my Heavenly Father through prayer, reading the scriptures, and attending church each week. I strive to strengthen my relationships with those around me by being a good friend and serving them. Currently, I also have the responsibility in my local church unit of publicizing events and helping people feel included in the activities we have.
