Hi I'm Ben

I grew up in Northern California in a large family. I love the outdoors, sports and being a dog owner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an entrepreneur at heart and have a few inventions I'd like to develop and market. I currently own a marketing and web development company and moonlight as a handyman through personal references only. I like to keep myself fit by playing flag football, basketball, road and mountain biking, hiking and participating in triathlon sprints. I recently decided to train for and become an Ironman. I love running races with one of my dogs. She's a great companion to run with and keeps me going. I recently became a gun owner and like to target practice sharpening my skill in shooting.

Why I am a Mormon

When I read the Bible I learned that Christ established his church on the earth. As I thought about all the different churches in the world, I reasoned that one of them should have the same organization as the one Christ established. Growing up in and learning about the Latter Day Saint (Mormon) church while I was a child, youth and young adult doesn't mean I didn't question my beliefs. Nor did I stay a member by default. When questions needed answers, I still had to research and decide for myself if the Mormon church was what Christ established on earth. I've read the Bible; I've read the Book of Mormon. Both books instruct to pray to God and he will answer (See James 1:5 --in the Bible-- and Moroni 10:3-5 --in the Book of Mormon). I prayed to my God and he answered my prayers. I believe the Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ. It confirms the teachings in the Bible. I believe the Bible to be the Word of God from the mouth of the Jews. There are many arguments for and against. But I love God more and I revere his answer to my pray more than what any man can say. I am an active participating Mormon because this religion is, to me, the same church that Christ established while he walked the earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith and beliefs in my every day interaction with people. I try my best to follow the example of my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. I treat everyone as best I can by following the Golden Rule taught by the Savior. Jesus' example of loving others is a huge inspiration to me. I work with 12 and 13 year old boys on how they can become better followers of Jesus Christ. It's a challenging position; especially when boys in this age group can be obnoxious and rowdy often. But it's a joy to associate with them as I show them that I care for them and am interested in their lives.
