Hi I'm Tammy

I like to ski. I love ballet. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After completing my Master's degree in English, my husband and I knew it was time to start a family, and I knew I wanted, more than anything, to be a stay-at-home mom. Since this decision was made years ago, I couldn't be happier. I now have three children, and I enjoy just being with them every day. For breaks, which, many times, are much needed, I enjoy dancing, and I take a ballet class once a week. I also enjoy running and playing tennis (when I get to). My daily routine involves cooking dinners, driving kids to lessons, cleaning, changing diapers etc. I LOVE being a mom!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church. And when I was about ten years old, we were having some family issues, which really tore me apart. At this point, I knew I needed Christ in my life. I needed to know, for myself, if the gospel of Jesus Christ was true. So I did as counseled in the Book of Mormon, which I had just finished reading, and I knelt down and prayed. I received a confirmation, by a feeling of peace, that the gospel was true and that I had always known it was true. While this was, truly, a developing point of my testimony, my testimony needs constant nourishment and enrichment. Every day I pray, and I read my scriptures. And through my prayers and my scripture reading, I continually receive this confirmation that this is indeed the true church of Jesus Christ. Steadfastness, for me, is key. I love the gospel. I know that Jesus is the Christ, and that through him we can constantly improve and be forgiven of our sins. I know that Joseph Smith is the prophet of the restoration and that the Book of Mormon is true. And I know that our living prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, is a true prophet.

How I live my faith

My faith is continually a part of my everyday life. Every morning and evening I pray, and every evening I read from the Book of Mormon. Along with reading from the scriptures and praying daily, I enjoy serving those around me. The Church of Jesus Christ gives me this opportunity. I'm able and given the responisbilty to visit other women in the area, allowing us to become friends and to discuss spiritual topics. This service, simply put, makes me happy.
