Hi I'm Ashley Marie

I am a physician assistant student. I am my husband's loudest fan in the SunDevil Stadium. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 18 and I am the only member of the LDS church in my family. I met my husband during my senior year of my undergraduate program. I graduated college and got married in the same month! Now I am a first year physician assistant student. I feel like I study 24/7! When I am not studying I love to workout at the gym with my friends, eat dinner with my husband, spend time with our families, and watch movies. My husband plays college football so I spend my Saturday nights cheering for him and his team! My hobbies include longboarding, scrapbooking, dancing, listening to music, reading, and playing basketball and golf.

Why I am a Mormon

I got to a point in my life where I wasn't happy and I wanted to find what was missing. I learned about many different religions during this time. I went to my friend's Mormon baptism and the missionaries asked me if I would like to learn more about the Mormon religion. I had always noticed how happy the Mormon students at my school were and how respectfully the Mormon boys treated women. Because of their example, I agreed to meet with the missionaries and learn more. I loved going to Church because I felt good when I walked through the doors and I felt peace when I was taught about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After reading parts of the Book of Mormon I prayed and asked God if the things I read were true and I felt that they were true. Although I knew the Church was true, I was scared to change my life and I knew it would not be easy. It has been a few years since I have been baptized and I can see the great blessings that Heavenly Father has given me for my decision to follow the Savior Jesus Christ. Because of my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I am the happiest I have ever been. My life has a purpose. I know where I came from. I know where I am going. I know that I am a daughter of God. I know that Jesus Christ overcame death and sin for me. I know that Heavenly Father has a Plan of Happiness for all of His children and He even has a Plan of Happiness especially and specifically for me! I learned how to love myself because of the truths taught in the Mormon church. I have learned how to love and serve others. My family has become stronger through the principles taught by the Gospel. I am not perfect, but I try my best, and that is all that Heavenly Father expects of me! Becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been the best decision of my life and I am so grateful that I had enough courage to ask if the Church was true. It never hurts to ask!

How I live my faith

I strive to build my relationship with my Heavenly Father through daily prayer and scripture study. On Sundays I attend church to learn more about the Gospel and I set aside time to spend with my family. When people ask me about my faith I share my love for Jesus Christ and the truths that are taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I try to serve others around me and bring joy into their lives. I strive to be polite and respectful to everyone. I try not to judge others and I strive to smile to everyone I see! Most noticeably, I show my faith by being happy :)
