Hi I'm Steve

I am a dad, I am a Christian, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a farm in Idaho and am now an accountant in California. I am a dad of 2 boys 12 and 13 in age.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I am a Christian. I believe in Christ in that I by myself I have no hope but through Him I have all hope for true happiness and peace that has no end, not for myself alone but for all people every where. I believe we are all the same in that we are all children to the same one God who gave us one Savior, who gave us one church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith when I love all people and do what I can do to bring good in the world. I can think of no better way to bring good into the world than to bear testimony by word and deed of Christ through which we all can have true happiness and peace.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

There is a law and to each law a blessing for obeying and a punishment for disobeying. By ourselves the demands for justice will be greater than our ability to meet them and so our need for a Savior one who can pay the demands of justice so we need not suffer. Christ is our hope to be freed from the bondage and suffering of sin. Show more Show less

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

God loves all his children equally. It seems fair he would want to bring his Gospel to all people.  Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

It helps me to reflect on who I am and my relation to God and our Savior. It helps me to understand and remember that there is one who is mightier than I or mankind on whom I depend for a hope of true happiness and joy. It helps me to feel things I otherwise would not feel. Show more Show less

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We are all children of God, God Loves all his children, and we too should love all, If we did not love the sinner we would love no man for we all fall short, but loving the sinner does not mean loving, endorsing or tolerating the sin (in fact it means just the opposite). When we understand how certain behaviors can be so detrimental to our own happiness and those closest to us as well as the community and society at large then out of love we must do all we can to foster behaviors that will allow ourselves and all to experience a greater joy and happiness than what we otherwise would be able to attain. What initially may appear to be insensitive upon closer reflection may prove to be the greater sensitivity. Far better to initially appear insensitive than to not oppose that which causes such blocking of blessings to us as individuals, families and society. One wrong does not justify another so gay bashing is wrong it is not the Lord's way of opposing the gay movement. Central to the plan of salvation was for us to come to the earth and gain a body, any wonder then that God would condem practices that thwart and hinder the basic elements of His plan? Marriage between a man and a woman is an institution of God, are we at liberty/entitled to rewrite what he has decreed? We are His creation not visa versa, we would do well to remember that.
