Hi I'm Lin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a retired school librarian, wife, genealogist, author, poet, blogger, columnist, mother of four sons and six grandchildren. I love to write and research my roots, travel and explore this fascinating world.

Why I am a Mormon

Though baptized as a child of eight years of age, I didn't gain my testimony until I attended college and felt a desire to know of the truth of the gospel. With the help of a marvelous bishop Steven R. Covey at BYU, I felt the witness of the Holy Ghost testifying that the church had been restored once more in its fullness. Later visiting church historical sites-the Sacred Grove near Palmyra, New York, the restore village of Nauvoo in Illinois and other LDS Church historical sites, the Spirit again bore witness to me of the truthfulness of this work. After a life of service in the church, the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is my guide and strength for meeting life's many challenges.

How I live my faith

I attend church regularly, enjoy learning more of the gospel each Sunday and in my scripture studies. I love to teach, search out my ancestors and preserve my family histories. I have a website where I post my genealogy. See http://famhistory1867.com.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Lin
Modern LDS Temple are built all over our world, with over a 130 and more being planned. They are a special house of the Lord not used for Sunday services but for sacred ordinances that teach us more of why we are here, our purpose and where we are going. A place to make solemn covenants with our Heavenly Father and be sealed together as eternal families. We also do important work for our kindred dead, offering them the possibilities of membership in the Church and eternal family blessings. I have attended the temple throughout my life and it's a great blessing to know if I live worthy my family has the opportunity to continue in the next life. It brings great comfort and blessings to me to know I will see my ancestors again. Show more Show less
