Hi I'm Brittany Abbott

I'm from Michigan and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with a degree in elementary education and taught second grade for one year before we had kids. I am a stay-at-home mom and I love it! I love running, singing, spending time with family, being outdoors, shopping, and enjoying holidays!

Why I am a Mormon

The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not just another church--it is Jesus Christ's church here on earth. When I go to church and when I read the Book of Mormon I feel closer to Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. Every week I feel inspired on what I can do to be a better person, a better wife, a better mom, a better daughter of God. I know our Father in Heaven had Joseph Smith restore the things on earth today that Jesus Christ taught while he was alive. Although as a child I felt the truth of this church, I questioned it as a teenager when peers invited me to do things that seemed cool. I knew those things would only hurt me when all was said and done but they were what I thought I wanted to do. After some heartache I found that peace from the truth of the gospel that I felt as a child. It feels so good to be doing what is right to the best of my ability, and it feels so good to be married to a wonderful man who loves me and respects me and who loves God too. It is a wonderful blessing to be a mother. Children are angels!

How I live my faith

I go to church on Sunday. First I attend sacrament meeting to partake of the sacrament and be taught. Then I go to sunday school meeting to study the scriptures. And the third meeting is the last where all of the women meet together andI learn to love and serve each other. When I had my babies, ladies in my church brought me dinners. Now I love to do that for other ladies when it's announced that they have had their babies! We have a family night where we teach our little boy songs and games, or we make a treat, or we tell each other how much we love Jesus and how we want to be like him. Or we talk about money and how to handle it well; just anything as long as we're together.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Brittany Abbott
Where I grew up a lot of people drank alcohol and smoked. I love being able to be a healthy mother and not having to worry about all those scary things that harm babies' development. I love feeling healthy and pure. Eating right, exercising, getting rest, and not smoking or drinking. The word of wisdom keeps us from addictive substances that could harm our spirit or cloud our judgement. Show more Show less
