Hi I'm Kellee

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired military wife and mother of 6 daughters. We have lived in Germany back and forth for 14 years and have lived several different places in the United States. We are now empty nesters and have recently retired. We only have two of our daughters married, but have 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Our unmarried daughters are highly educated, working in their careers and doing well. I enjoy gardening, canning, cooking, reading, listening to music and helping where I can. I love people, and especially my family. I love being a wife, mother, grandmother and everything that goes along with being a homemaker.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a LDS home, but, as a teenager I wanted to know for myself if our religion was more of a family tradition or a true religion. I went on a quest to find out for myself by study, prayer and examining our beliefs. I receive a spiritual awareness that it was true. It came deep within me that I could not doubt. That witness has stayed with me for over 50 years. It helped me through my teenage years in the 70's when most of my friends were experimenting with marijuana and other drugs. I had no desire to get involved knowing I was a daughter of a Heavenly Father who loves me and who has a plan for me. My faith has strengthened me ever since in many different situations and, together with my husband, our girls and their families are strong in knowing who they are and that there is a purpose to life.

How I live my faith

I love the youth of today, there are so many that need to have a friend they can look up to. I have taught an early morning Old Testament class in our home before school. I have also enjoyed helping out at the High School. I try to be a good neighbor and have helped neighbors with problems they are having like rides to the doctor or taking care with meals when they are sick. They helped us when my husband was in a bad car accident and had to have his bed set up in the living room. We have hosted many neighborhood barbeques in our yard during the summer. I have been assigned to watch over ladies from church to make sure they are ok. They have become my friends as we have visited at least each month. These are some of the things I do to try to follow the example of Jesus.
