Hi I'm Bernie

I have grown up in the Rocky Mountains of the American west. I'm a wildlife artist and love the west. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the father of 6 children and the grandfather of 26. I grew up loving sports and the outdoors. When I was in my 30's I went to see some Charles Russel paintings and was mesmerized. I told my wife I needed to try my hand at paintings. I bought some oils and canvas and started. I have been painting professionally for the last 20 years. I am grateful for my life and the blessings my Father in Heaven has given me to help me succeed. My wife has been my biggest support and I know I would have not been able to paint without her help.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church but I was converted when I was 25. I found it takes effort to gain faith and follow our Heavenly Father. I didn't make that effort until I was married and had our first born. As I saw my son for the first time I realized that he needed a good father. I knew the Church would help me become a good father. Since I have found faith I can see the hand of my Father in Heaven in my life and have come to learn that His ways are not only the right way, they are the only way that can bring you peace in such a chaotic world.

How I live my faith

I have served in many callings in the church. The most recent was Bishop. I have spent most of my life working with the youth. They have kept me young. I have a great faith in my Heavenly Father and it is a joy to watch the youth recognize the Holy Ghost working in their life. The teen years are the most critical in most people's life and to help the youth navigate that time so they can avoid the major pit falls is a blessing. Now it is my wife and my time to serve by becoming missionaries. The Lord has given us much and now is our time to give back.
