Hi I'm Ben!

I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, analyst, vocalist, dreamer and a Mormon. I am the son of 2 wonderful parents, who've been married for 25 years now, and the oldest of five kids. I was raised LDS and have had a close relationship with my Savior since I was young. I love talking to people who have a strong faith and love of Christ Jesus, especially those who aren't LDS. When talking with them, we usually find we have more in common than either of us knew through the Savior who redeems us and brings peace and joy to our lives and hearts. I was married a year ago to my beloved wife. Together, we've had to learn how to become a family and what habits to form and what not to. She has been my best friend and my beloved angel. She and I both work full time and plan on having kids when it feels right. Until then, we're devoted to each other, to the Lord, to our cat and dog and to our careers and hobbies.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church with both my parents being members already. When I was 7, I had a very hard time dealing with the deaths of my uncle and cousin, whom I considered my very best friends. I often dreamed of dying and floating in the abyss of the universe, all alone. I was afraid. Seeing my pain and my fears, my dad taught me that we were spirit children of a loving Father in Heaven who has a special plan for us. This plan promises that we can be together as families for eternity, having the same types of relationships there that we have here. I felt peace fill my heart as the Spirit of God testified that this was true to me, at this young age. Then, before my baptism at 8 years old, I had the opportunity to hear the prophet of the Lord, who came to speak near our home. I felt the same peace I had when my dad taught me about God's Plan for me. I knew that day that the prophet was called of God, and thus, the LDS church was led by Him. I could recount hundreds of experiences like these, which continually strengthen my testimony that God leads the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, that the Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ and that Families can be Forever. As I keep the commandments, read my scriptures and say my prayers individually and with my new family, I find increased joy, peace and love in a world that is searching for just those gifts the Lord gives through His covenants in His church.

How I live my faith

Just starting my career out of school has been difficult but a wonderful growing experience. It takes daily learning and the faith that I'll learn and be able to do what's asked of me in the best possible way. Mostly, I've learned the power of the Gospel as I pray day and night, read my scriptures and strive to live like Christ throughout the day. My whole life is suddenly filled with joy and I am excited to share that joy with others. Every Sunday, my wife and I go to church. It's 3 hours long and we go over a lot. I am taught how I can be more like my Savior and how I can become closer to Him. Every Sunday, I get to take the Sacrament, the bread and water instituted by the Savior before HIs death. As I partake of it, remembering the sacrifice He's made for me and for my family, I renew my covenant with Him to be obedient to His commandments and and cleansed by His blood. I can feel clean every week that I take of the sacrament and go to Him with a promise to do better this week than I did last week.
