Hi I'm Mark

I'm an Aussie, an American, a trucker and an independant businessman, a husband, a father, a granddad and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Life for me started with an American father and an Aussie mum in Australia. My family is large and diverse with 10 siblings and family here in Utah as well as family back in my homeland. Trucking pays the bills for my family and after many years of struggle and driving, our business grew to support me staying home and eventually joining with good partners to share the workload. I love the Gospel and I love my brothers and sisters, especially those from South of our border. Grandchildren have given me a renewed sense of purpose and have reminded me that family is the source of all lasting happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many, I was raised in a family where the Gospel was known but the time came for me to find out for myself regarding the truthfulness of the gospel. Due to experiences gained in that quest, I know from personal experiences that my Heavenly Father is aware of me as His son and that his Gospel has been revealed here on the earth in these latter days. I have been given guideance throughout my life in those quiet moments and when I have followed those promptings, I have been blessed. This life is about changing for the better and the Gospel of Jesus Christ helps propell us towards positive change. I am a better person than I was yesterday and hope to build on that for tomorrow. I've heard that all good people have a past and that all sinners have a future. Hopefully I can blend the best of both and build on my past experiences mixed with positive growth in the future with my family by my side.

How I live my faith

I claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of my own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may. Each of us are on divergent courses that hopefully lift us and bring us closer to Eternal Life with our Elder Brother. I hope my life can be judged when complete, not just on single occurrances. I believe in looking for opportunities to be of service, whether it be on the side of the road or in counseling one of our co-workers in difficult times. I hope to grow in compassion so that I can look at others the way Christ does and use that to drive me to be more concerned about my wife, family, ward members, co-workers and all with whom I come in contact with.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mark
The name of the Church is a key indicator that we base our beliefs on the fact that Jesus Christ is the central figure of our worship. We believe he is literally the Son of God our Eternal Father. His original foundation of Prophets and Apostles lives on today in this Church where the fulness of all past truth may be found. Some feel our belief that the Godhead consists of three separate and individual beings with one purpose is not consistent with traditional Christianity but I have great peace knowing that the Godhead consists of individual beings who are all interested in my well being and happiness.
