Hi I'm Tatha

I'm a nurse and lactation consultant. I'm a wife, mother and stepmother. I'm an anchor to my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of 4 amazing children and 5 beautiful step children. Six of which are adults and forging their own paths. My youngest is a challenging yet awesome son who has Down Syndrome. Being a mother/stepmother has brought me my greatest joy, sadness, challenges, and growth. I would not trade it for the world! What a journey. My career is that of a registered nurse. I have worked for over 20 years with infants and children and absolutely love it! I am a NICU nurse and also a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I also enjoy pediatric home care nursing. It is so satisfying assisting families in welcoming new little ones into their lives. Even if these little ones come with extra challenges. I love doing outdoor activities like hiking, camping, sports, and relaxing walks with my sweet husband. I also enjoy photography and videography. I enjoy spending time with my husband and children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon. But even given this upbringing every person must come to their own understanding and conviction of beliefs or lack of them. For me this happened in my late 20's while living in Virginia. As I read and studied the Bible and Book of Mormon concurrently I received a strong witness of the reality of my living Savior Jesus Christ. He ministered to the peoples of the world in person and will do so again. He is real and I could not deny it. This just added to all the previous knowledge and faith I had previously gathered over the years of my life and solidified my beliefs. If we will live by the principles that he has laid out for us we can truly avoid the many pitfalls of life. If we mess up he has provided a way for us to fix our errors through his loving atonement.

How I live my faith

One of my greatest challenges in life is to apply the teachings of the Savior to my modern day concerns. I personally or through those I love have faced the challenges of addiction, same sex attraction, divorce, disability, and mental illness among others. I continue to hold firm to my convictions and love of God and his laws as I understand them. I have found I can be an anchor of love and support to my loved ones despite our differences in beliefs and views of life. God knows us personally and I feel his love and active support in my life. Life is a wonderful and exciting journey! I look forward to all the many new things I will continue to learn as I face and overcome the challenges in my life.
