Hi I'm Elise
I'm a mom, a teacher, an athlete and a latter day saint.
About Me
I'm pretty down to earth. I love my children, outdoor activities like hiking, biking, kayaking and camping. I've had my share of trials and challenges, with each one I learn more about myself. I've had many different jobs over the years. I went back to school in my thirties and got my masters in teaching. I consider teaching to be a very rewarding, stimulating and motivating profession. No two days are the same, just like no two people are the same.
Why I am a Mormon
I was raised in another faith by very loving, support parents who taught me to be an honest, giving person. Yet I felt that I was missing a piece of the puzzle. After I joined the army I was sent to language school and there met some amazing people and missionaries. They answered questions I had had for many years in a way that completely made sense. They helped me see that the foundation my parents gave me was solid and they added a new dimension to my understanding of the Gospel. I knew Jesus Christ was that Savior and when I decided to join the church the Holy Spirit gave me such strength and peace, I knew I was making the right decision.
How I live my faith
I believe that it is important not only to talk about my faith, but to live it. I try to give of my time, energy and talents in both my professional and personal life. I am actively involved with my school and community. I am also actively involved in my church. I have worked with the Young Women's program in many ways including advisor/counselor and camp director. I am currently working with the young children teaching in the primary.
