Hi I'm Eric

I'm a husband, I'm a college student, I like to go camping and fishing, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up in Arizona my whole life, and now I still live here with my wife. We like to go camping together and we also love playing volleyball and tennis. I love life and I love having fun with family and friends. I'm also an assistant scoutmaster for a local group of Boy Scouts. We have a really fun time going camping and finding new adventures. It is a blast.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have received a personal witness that this is the Lord's church and that it is true. This witness has come through simple but powerful feelings as I have read the Book of Mormon and have participated in church activities. I know that I have a Heavenly Father that loves and knows me personally, and He is always there in my life. The teachings of the LDS church teach these things that I know to be true. The teachings of the church also make me happy and that is why I have followed them. I know that when try and live a righteous life and serve others just like Jesus Christ did I am truly happy. Jesus Christ has shown us the perfect example and I'm grateful for my church where I can learn that I can strive to become like Him. I know that Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father appeared to Joseph Smith in 1820 and commanded him to restore the Church of Jesus Christ back to the earth. It is the same church that existed before and as I read the Bible and I can see that the church is organized the same way as it was in time of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is true scripture that isn't meant to replace the Bible, but to supplement it. It has taught me of Jesus Christ just like the Bible and both have been instrumental in teaching me about the kind of person I want become.

How I live my faith

First and foremost, I try to live my faith by being a kind and charitable person to all those around me. This is the example that Jesus Christ has shown us and I want to try and emulate Him. I do not always succeed in this goal and those who are around me the most would agree that I'm far from perfect. But I'm grateful for this life where I can learn and refine myself and grow a little better each day. In church I serve with the young men group, ages 12-13. We have a lot of fun together participating in various activities one day a week. We also meet together in a class on Sundays where we learn the gospel of Jesus Christ from each other. I think it is so important that the youth be taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are faced with so many challenges and temptations in the world today and I love how the church has programs designed to help teach the youth how to make right decisions in their lives. I also try and serve and lift others when any help is needed. I love to serve because it gives me great happiness. I was so grateful to be able to serve a two year mission for the church to Uruguay. I love the people in Uruguay and I learned so much from them. I want everyone to know that Jesus Christ lives today and is guiding this church. I know that He will come again to this earth and we all need to feel that we are personally prepared for His coming. I know that this church is true.
