Hi I'm Carroll

I'm retired. I care for my elderly father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of six and grandmother of six. I have two sons and four daughters. My grandchildren range in age from 24yrs to 2 1/2 months. I retired last year. My father, age 88, lives with me. My mother is in a nursing home about 20 minutes away; one of my brothers is her primary caregiver. I enjoy camping, the beach, gardening, family history and creative projects.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and have ancestors who joined the church in the 1830's and were closely associated with the church's early beginnings. These family stories mean a lot to me and I have gained a lot of strength from this heritage. I have, however, had to rely upon my own spiritual experiences to sustain me and help me through times that I have found very challenging. Without my own anchor and personal knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father and a kind Savior and Redeemer, I would not have the peace and guidance that I treasure.

How I live my faith

I am aware each day of God's goodness to me. Right now I am keenly aware of how much he cares for us as individuals. I know, for instance, that the Lord dearly loves my aging father and I consider it a blessing that I can care for him in my home. I know that these years are limited and that I am growing from this experience. My current volunteer work at church involves co-ordinating the physical care of the church building. I am amazed at how much the Lord cares for the details and helps me with inspiration in this assignment. It is the same with all other assignments that I've accepted over time whether as a teacher, a choir director, an event planner or to speak in church. No prayers of mine are answered as quickly as the ones when I'm doing His work. He prepares a path to accomplish His work. I really enjoy being involved in this process. The church is dynamic, but as far as I can tell, all of the purposes the Lord had in restoring the gospel at this time point to the Temple. The whole purpose of life for me is to strengthen my bond to God and my family through service, understanding and keeping the commandments and my temple covenants in a humble and sincere way.
