Hi I'm Laura Gunn

I'm a mother, artist, designer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a mother of three lively kids my days are mostly filled with keeping everyone fed and cared for. And I can honestly say that being a wife and mother is the best part of my life. There is nothing I love more than watching my kids run around in the backyard together or wrestle with their dad. One thing that helps me get through the more mundane aspects of mothering--AKA picking up toys, changing diapers, etc--is to make stuff. I especially love to paint. I've been painting flowers and other botanicals for about five years. My canvases are published as limited edition prints and sold internationally. I also design fabric from my paintings.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon Church, and since I was a little girl I have loved it. I love the focus on families and the belief that families can be together forever. I love the Book of Mormon and all it teaches me about my Savior, Jesus Christ. I love that there is a living prophet to teach and guide me and my family. All the best things in my life have come because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I'm so lucky. Right now, I get to teach music to the nursery age kids. These kids are between 18 months and three years old. We have about 50 in our congregation! (Two of them are mine.) Their favorites are Old McDonald and Three Little Freckled Frogs. I'm taking a break from the Freckled Frogs though. Every kid wants a turn as a frog! I can hear the song in my sleep now.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Laura Gunn
We believe that this life is an opportunity to grow and to be tested. We want to become more like our Father in Heaven. It is within our own families that we have the most opportunities for this growth. And the relationships we develop here with our family will extend into eternity. Show more Show less
