Hi I'm Elisa

I'm a current Full Time Missionary, New Yorker, Teacher, Believer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My hobbies are playing any and all sports, singing, dancing (mostly latin or swing), and listening to music. I am a graduate from college with my bachelor's degree. I was an Elementary Education major. I love teaching and love teaching children even more so. My ultimate goal is to be a mother and use the knowledge I have gained to teach my children. I have made the decision to be a full-time missionary for the Church and am currently serving in the Singapore/Malaysia Mission speaking the language of Malay, I am excited to share my testimony in a new language and a different country!! I think there is a reason you meet the people you do, whether for a time, a season or a lifetime, there is always something you can learn from the people around us. I try my best to be an optimistic person, looking for the best in others. I'm not perfect at that by any means, but I do try my hardest! A special experience that I have had was that my dad survived the 9/11 attacks, he was in the First Tower and was able to get out safely. That experience has and will forever change the life of our family and close friends! It helped me to realize how special my dad was to me and also how fragile life really is. It stinks how it usually is a tragedy or some bad thing makes us reflect and change our own lifestyles, but I was able to evaluate my own life through my dad's experience and it made me appreciate all the little things a lot more!!

Why I am a Mormon

I had the great opportunity to be born into this church. My parents are both converts to the church and have taught us kids all about it. Through their testimonies as well as the testimonies of my teachers and leaders at church, I gained my own testimony. There was a time where I questioned a lot of things pertaining to that testimony I gained. Was it really my own testimony? I needed to find for myself if I thought this was the true church for me. After much prayer and study I came to know in my heart that the things I had learned all my life were true. I am a Mormon because of how it makes me feel, the person I have become and because it gives me hope and purpose in my life. I feel happy everyday with a purpose to always be better and try to be more Christlike. I try to always be an optimistic person, trying to find the good and reason in everything, whether hard situations or easy ones. I have a goal in my everyday life; I continually strive to always be a good person doing as much service as I can. My ultimate goal is to live a life worthy to return to my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith is by the things I do daily that show my love for my Savior. In church they give us lots of opportunities to serve others. I try to take advantage of this blessing and do my best to serve those around me. I have been able to be called to serve with the children of my ward helping to teach them different songs and lessons. I have also been able to be an active member of my church just by attending my meetings every week and the different activities we may have throughout the week. The only way to live my faith is to actually act. Live is an action word, so I show my faith, by doing something about it, to show others what Christ is all about.
