Hi I'm Elizabeth

I grew up in Orem, Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a newly married college student. My selected major is in Early Childhood Education. I love children and my family is the most important thing in my life. When I become a mom, I plan on being a stay-at-home mom because that is extremely important to me. I enjoy spending time outdoors and with friends and family. Activities I enjoy include snowmobiling, cooking, running, hiking, arts and crafts, reading, ballroom dancing, camping, and having Nerf gun / pillow "fights" with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, but that's not why I've chosen to continue in this religion. When I was young, I remember kneeling in prayer. After I closed the prayer in the Savior's name, instead of jumping into bed like I normally did, I stayed on my knees and listened. I cannot remember the content of my prayer, but I do remember the answer I received. I was filled with a warmth, and felt like Heaven surrounded me. I felt like Heaven had entered my room, and I felt my Heavenly Father's complete love for me fill me. Since that day, I have studied the scriptures consistently, and have felt a continual witness of their truth. I also continue to pray, and am able to feel The Spirit as I pray with sincerity and real intent. The spirit I receive from living my life in accordance to gospel doctrine and principles is such that I know that this church is true.

How I live my faith

I serve as a Sunbeam teacher (I teach the 3-4 year-olds) with my husband, and help visit other women in my ward to teach them and serve them in any way I can through the Visiting Teaching program. I also sing in the ward choir.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

By studying the Book of Mormon, and then taking Moroni's Challenge with sincerity and real intent, with faith in Christ, I know that the Spirit will manifest the truthfulness of this gospel to you. Moroni's Challenge (Moroni 10:3-5) "Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." The key to finding the truth is not only through the studying of the Book of Mormon, but also chiefly through prayer. "Pray always, and I will pour out my Spirit upon you, and great shall be your blessing..." (D&C 19:38) Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Moses 1:39 says "For behold, this is my work and my glory - to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." Because the Savior Atoned for all mankind, all of us will live again and receive immortality. However, if we live our lives in accordance to gospel principles and strive to live a life like Jesus led, then we will be able to obtain eternal life, which is the same style, type, and way of life that God Himself enjoys.
