Hi I'm Kim Ford

I grew up in California, am a returning student after 18 yrs of working and I am a business owner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of three, a small business owner, a student, and a wife. Life is pretty busy in our home but it is a happy home!

Why I am a Mormon

I did not grow up in the church. I grew up with a family who very much believed in a Heavenly Father. My mother and father had us attend many churches searching for the one that best fit the standards and values they believed to be right. At the age of nineteen I was still searching. I was introduced to a young adult at work who seemed to have the world by the tale. She was serving in the community, enjoying life with her peers and seemed to handle lives trails with dignity and optimism. I wanted that. We became good friends. She told me of her membership in a church that she participated in all of these activities. She continued to befriend me and then an invitation was extended to come with her to a young adult activity. I had the oppurtunity to meet about 50 other young adults my age who seemed to enjoy all life had to offer. I was so intrigued I continued to attend. After several church activities I got up the courage to attend on Sunday. I was very impressed with the service and the people. I was then introduced to the missionaries and was slowly taught the basics of the church. I felt such an overwhelming peace and desire to be in the fellowship of these people. I felt like I belonged. I felt like the things my parents had taught me my whole life to look for and live were present in this gospel. It gave me the feeling of love for myself, others and God. I try everyday to be that example that was shown to me in a member of the church so long ago.

How I live my faith

I am lucky enough to work with the youth of our church, ages 12 - 18 years of age. I help organize youth activities and over see the gospel teachings on Sundays. The youth are wonderful examples of being examples of this church. They live the values and help share the gospel on a daily basis. I am a better person because of the affliation I have with them.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Kim Ford
The church organizes it's congregations in geographical boundaries. Depending on where you live detemines what ward you go to. This would be your church family. Each Sunday you would attend with those who are in your community and neighborhood. Show more Show less
