Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a retired semi-truck accident investigator and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am seventy-one. I have five children, twenty-two grand children and two great-grand children. I've been married for fifty years and loved every minute of it. I married my childhood sweetheart. That was one of the best things I did in this life. We have lived and traveled all over the country due to my employment. I have been involved in the Boy Scouts of America and with the Church's youth programs for over forty-five years and have love that too. Hobbies are reading, family history/genealogy, and being with my wife. We tend to be "joined at the hip". We are always together.

Why I am a Mormon

I had no specific religious training as a youth although I desired to know about god. When I was thirteen years old I had the opportunity to tour the recently constructed Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints or "Mormon" as it is nicknamed. It was constructed of the finest materials. It was beautiful. The temple has four main rooms that are used for religious instruction. The rooms are decorated with beautiful murals. One mural depicted a Lamb and Lion together in perfect peace. I was puzzled because the lion was not eating the lamb. Puzzled I asked a tour guide why it was so and was told that the Garden was that peaceful and would again be that peaceful when Christ comes again. I was stunned. At that moment I experienced what can only be described as a beautiful heavenly manifestation in which I was told by a heavenly being that "This is the true Church." I was astonished beyond belief. I had not been been looking for the Gospel, but it had found me. I was filled with joy and could hardly wait to be baptized into the Church. I have never regretted that decision. I have learned that by the power of the Holy Ghost, which is what I experienced in the Temple, you can know the truth of all things. So by applying that principle I have read, prayed about, and have been born witness by the Holy ghost that the Book of Mormon IS true. It is a testimony of Jesus Christ by the prophets of an extinct Hebrew tribe that Jesus is the Christ. Those people had lived on this land but became wicked and were destroyed in a great civil war. The book is another witness of Jesus Christ add stands along side of the Old and New Testaments. Of these things I testify to be true in the sacred name of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I love people and being of service to others; assisting with their needs, whatever the needs are. I have spent many years teaching and serving youth to be better citizens with high moral standards. For example many years I was very active with the Boy Scouts of America teaching skills, having fun on scout outings, etc. Currently I instruct a class of very active twelve and thirteen year old youth in our Church's Sunday School program. I am an avid genealogist searching for my ancestors going back many hundreds of years.
