Hi I'm M. Black

I'm a high school band director in Eastern Oklahoma, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life is pretty much centered around three things: Christ, my family, and music. I teach music and pride myself in teaching students to be better individuals. I hope that the things I teach will help my students to be successful in any walk of life they choose.

Why I am a Mormon

For a very long time I followed the teaching of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because my parents did. As I grew older I began to fully understand how Joseph Smith was called as a prophet to restore Jesus Christ's church to the earth and it just all made since. I started reading the Book of Mormon and found happiness in the words it shared. Finally I prayed and asked Heavenly Father if these things were true, and I felt in my heart that they were. I can not deny what I have felt.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the Branch President where I have many responsibilities. Basically I conduct all of the church meetings and am in church of the welfare of all the individuals within our boundaries. I also deal a lot with the youth of the congregation and help to build them up and prepare them for the future.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Many people have friends that are members of the church, if you do not then locate the local missionaries by using this web page. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

M. Black
Since Bible times the Temple of God has been a sacred place that could only be entered by those that were prepared. We believe that the fullness of Jesus Christ's gospel was restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith, and that part of that gospel involves temples. Those that are prepared enter the temple and make serious promises to Heavenly Father. We believe that failure to live up to these promises is a very serious sin and do not wish for those who are not prepared to make these promises and to be held under any condemnation. Anybody can come to our churches and participate in our worship services. Only those that are prepared can enter into the temple. Show more Show less
