Hi I'm Alex

I work in logistics. I love anything Japanese. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the heart of the US (Ohio, Illinois, and Kansas). I played the saxophone throughout high school and loved jazz. That passion help me keep afloat as my parents divorced and my life changed drastically. Eventually I left Kansas (on a Tornado I tell people) to go to college and eventually serve a mission in Japan. I came back with a love of Asia and decided to study supply chain. I met my sweetheart in college and found a job in Salt Lake working for a flower hair accessory company (very manly job, I know). Now I live in American Fork with my wife and we hope to have kids sometime soon.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were Mormons, but I didn't really know for myself why I should be a Mormon until I was 14. I left home for a two-week music camp in Michigan. This camp was the first time I had been away home for any long amount of time. I had brought a copy of the Book of Mormon with me. In my down time, when I had a couple minutes, I was drawn to the book. I started reading from the beginning - and I felt something hit my soul. It was a warm peace. I felt the truth of what the book taught - and I knew the religion based on the book was true as well.

How I live my faith

Every morning, I listen to scriptures on my commute into work (I'm almost finished with the New Testament!). My wife and I read and pray together every night - and talk about religious things when we take our walks in the evening. I am currently in charge of looking over the men in the ward that are age 18 through 50. I learn a great deal from them - and have a few assistants to help me. My favorite part is visiting others in our congregation and building friendships.
