Hi I'm Amelia

I am married to the most wonderful man on earth, have my dream job photographing weddings, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an artist using the medium of wedding photography to create beauty. My husband and I love art, our two poorly behaved cats and each other! I love food and cooking. I am gregarious. I love being around and meeting new people. A stranger is just a friend I haven't met!

Why I am a Mormon

The restored Gospel of Jesus Christ has been the greatest blessing of my life; it answers the questions of the soul. The Gospel is quite simple: If you keep the commandments you will be happy, if you don't keep the commandments, you will be sad and mad. In a world where cherished values like integrity are becoming more obsolete, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a refuge. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and that I can be successful and return to live with him. God always calls prophets, a pattern established in the Bible, and today is no exception! We have a living Prophet, Thomas S. Monson who shares with those who will listen what the Lord wants us to hear. God speaks, not spoke. In life it is very easy to be bogged down by difficult trials. Everyone in their life will undergo major adversity! That is part of the plan for us here on earth. I love how the Gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us that no matter what bad experiences happen to us, if we follow the Lord and do as he says, we will be blessed. Challenges need not cripple us or make us bitter. They can be turned into sweet blessings that teach us patience, love, sacrifice, and most importantly bring us closer to the Lord. Through doing my best to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I feel true peace that the world cannot offer. Some may think that physical, visible miracles are the greatest evidence of the Lord's power. I think the most incredible miracle that I have seen in my family is when people follow the Gospel. Hearts and lives change, people soften and possibilities that you never thought possible emerge.

How I live my faith

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we all have the opportunity to be teachers and students. Because the leaders of the church cannot visit every single person, church members are assigned other members to go and visit once per month. I get to visit teach a group of ladies. The visit is about sharing a spiritually uplifting message and forming friendships. I look forward to my visiting teachers visit each month. They genuinely care for me. This program is so inspired. When I have challenges, these wonderful ladies offer their assistance. They make it clear that they want to serve me! Can you imagine!? People that actually seek out opportunities to go out of their way to help another! In our church we have a lay clergy, which means no one gets paid for their service. The service is charity, the pure love of Christ. The Lord commands us to feed his sheep, and this is one very organized, inspired way that we can do just that. I love to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with my friends, even with those that are not quite open to the idea. I know that the Gospel is true. I cannot express just how much of a blessing the Gospel is in my life. The Gospel answers so many questions that many people are searching for such as "What is the purpose of life?" or "Why do bad things happen to good people?" It is a privilege to get to share this. I love giving away The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Anyone can read The Book of Mormon and pray and ask God if it is true. If people really, genuinely want to know the truth of it, they can know. The Holy Ghost will testify to their hearts that it is true. I have read The Book of Mormon and followed this course and I can say with certainty that it is true. Once you know the truth of the Gospel, life becomes so much richer and fuller.
