Hi I'm Dan

I am a husband and father of four great children. I am blessed to be a grandfather. I am an anesthesiologist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father and grandfather. I especially enjoy time with the family, working together at home. We like going to the mountains, taking backcountry trips on motorcycles and the jeep, hiking, mountain bike riding, and taking the boat to the lake. I enjoy astronomy and science and frequently use that background to teach the Boy Scouts in our troop. At the hospital where my group practices, I served as the anesthesia department chairman for many years. Currently, I am the Chief of Staff. I have found that the leadership experience and training I have received at church, from my mission in Brazil to concepts taught every Sunday in class, have helped me to be empathetic and effective in assisting the professionals I work with provide good care to our patients. It is a privilege for me to be able to work with God's greatest creation, the human spirit and body.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon draws me close to my Savior Jesus Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon and the Bible. I have prayed about what I have read and have felt the Spirit of the Lord testify to me that the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. Almost every page of the Book of Mormon teaches of Christ. The Gospel gives meaning to my life. It helps my wife and I give direction to our children. It provides depth and understanding to the scientific principles that I study.

How I live my faith

Our family attends Sacrament meeting every week, even when we are traveling. Taking part in the Sacrament renews my commitment to Jesus Christ and to follow His commandments. We read the scriptures together and have daily family prayer. Prayer as husband and wife, and my individual prayers are opportunities to maintain my relationship with my Heavenly Father. I am amazed how the Lord is concerned with us as individuals and how He knows us and knows our needs. I find I can bring any concern to Him and receive guidance and direction. I find that giving thanks to Him is one of the most positive things I can do, recognizing how much He has done for me.
