Hi I'm Law Liu

I am a college student and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Currently I am attending college at BYU in Provo, UT. I am majoring in Biophysics and currently thinking of going to law school. School is hard and challenging but I like it. I am also part of a research group for a professor here at BYU who focuses on placental and uterine physiology. In my research group we study the affects of certain conditions and environments on cell invasion and motility and how it affects pregnancy in the short and long term. I think the older I get the more I love to learn new things and to try new things. I grew up in the United States. My parents were born in Hong Kong and Macau China and came to America for more opportunities and a better life. I love the outdoors. There is something about being out in the mountains and in nature that gives me peace from a busy world, and it feels good. I think the thing that I love to do most is to hang out with family and friends. Being around the people I love is my source of happiness in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents are converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Growing up they taught me what they were taught by the missionaries that taught them. It has been the biggest blessing in my life. There came a time in my life where i needed to know for my self if what I was being taught was actually true. i wanted to know for my self and not just go with what my family and friends were doing. I read the Book of Mormon along with the Bible and I asked the only person who could reveal truth to me, and that was God. I received my answer and many more answers to my prayers as I have tried to continue my life in such a way closer to God. Since then I have come to realize how much peace the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bring to my life and how it is real. I gained a realization that living gospel principles makes you happy and gives you peace, even when everything else around you might me falling apart. This is why I am a Mormon. I couldn't imagine my life with out the peace and happiness it brings. It's true happiness that does not fail.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday. I believe the greatest evidence of how someone lives their faith is how they do the simple little things. I am not perfect. I try to be nice to everyone. I try to help people around me. It feels good to help others. I try every day to improve and to do better. I try to be true to myself and do what i know deep down is right. This is how i live my faith. I realize that everyday is a new day and opportunity to do good. Sometimes I slip and do things I know are not right, but that is the beauty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We can change and become a new person as we trust in God. Lately I have recognized the importance of personal relationships with others. In the end it is our relationship with others that are really important.
