Hi I'm Corey

I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. I am a 29 year old medical resident living in Des Moines, IA. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Omaha, NE. I grew up in a family of eight children. I grew up loving the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. I love the Nebraska football team like most from Nebraska. I am 23 years old and now live in Provo, UT. I am studying Psychology at BYU and preparing for medical school in two years. I love sports and being active.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are Mormon so i grew up around it. Now that I am away from home and have been for a while it would be easy to stop going to church and stop being Mormon. I decided to keep going because I feel the things the church teaches are true. I believe in a God who loves me. I believe that there was a man named Jesus Christ who came to this earth and suffered for my sins. I believe in the Bible as the word of God. I also believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet, called of God, as Moses and Abraham of the old testament. I believe the Book of Mormon proves that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that anyone can know for themselves if this is true by reading the Book of Mormon and asking God if it is true. I believe God answered me when I asked.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a lot of ways. One important way is the way I try to treat others. I try to be kind and not judge others. The scriptures say to love one another. When I start to think poorly of someone, I try to remember that God loves that person and I should try to see that person the way God sees them.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Mormon missionary's purpose is to invite all people to come unto Jesus Christ. Christ himself said in John 14:6 "...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." The missionaries will answer questions that you have about our church and they will teach you about how our church began and what our church teaches. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

The Mormon lifestyle is similar to any other Christian lifestyle. As a college student I feel I do what almost every other college student across the country is doing. A couple of the big differences is that Mormons do not drink, we do not smoke and do not have pre-martial sex. Some would argue that those things are what college is all about, but I would disagree. I know lots of people that are not Mormon who do not drink, smoke, or have pre-marital sex. College is fun because you get specialized training in an interesting field and enjoy lots of fun activities with good friends. Show more Show less
