Hi I'm Amy

I love laughing. I have a green thumb, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in North Carolina as the oldest of eight children. We never had pets, my mom always said that we had siblings instead. We loved playing around the backyard and now that we've grown up a bit I can say that we are all friends. I finished college a few years ago and have taught at a Head Start preschool for about a year and a half. I enjoy sharing my love of life and discovery with others as well as gardening, reading, hiking to waterfalls and doing things with friends and family. I just returned from a full time mission in Northern California and am currently working at a plant nursery.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are members of the church and I was raised a member as well. However, I had to gain my own testimony. Throughout my life I have found that I am happiest and most at peace with myself when I live in accordance with the promises I made at my baptism. Those promises were to remember Christ and keep His commandments. If I do anything less I am left feeling hollow and uneasy. Even the things I love cannot bring me enjoyment. The gospel brings joy and fulfillment to every aspect of my life. Christ provides the strength and courage I need to face life's challenges. There are many ways to be Christlike. Another reason why I have chosen to follow Christ through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is because of my experiences with the Book of Mormon. As I have read and prayed about it I have felt at peace and received answers to my questions. I know it is the word of God. Because of that I also know that this church is the way to follow Christ's example back to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

My relationship with my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ affects every part of my life. Since I want to return to them, I try to make decisions that help me be more like them. Praying and learning about them are not something I just do on Sunday. I talk with God frequently throughout the day, thank Him, ask for strength, and ask His opinion on how to help lift and encourage the people I meet throughout the day.
