Hi I'm Jada
I grew up and live in the southern United States. I'm a teacher. I'm a Mormon.
I'm a high school Drama teacher, and I'm fortunate enough to love my job. I love movies, TV and books, my dog and serving in the Church. I also scrapbook and spend lots of time coming up with props, costumes and set pieces for the plays we do at my school. I'm single and have a wonderful family including a delightful niece and nephew I adore.
Why I am a Mormon
My parents joined the Church when I was two. They were classic '70s hippies - musicians, no less. I grew up in the Gospel and always knew it was true. When I was 19, I got a job that required me to work on Sundays. I wasn't doing anything wrong, but I wasn't going to church, either. There was a hole in my life, though, and I realized that it wasn't enough to know the Gospel was true, that I had to live it. I quit my job, and it was a turning point in my life. The Gospel is true. The Spirit of the Lord guides my life, and I do my best to live it in accordance with the Lord's commandments. Knowing that Heavenly Father speaks to us today, that He provides revelation to guide our lives, I can't imagine living any other way.
How I live my faith
I currently work with the children in my congregation, in particular the 5- and 6-year-olds, all of whom happen to be little girls. I love getting to serve them by teaching them about the Gospel; they are so eager to learn and have the most beautiful spirits. It is a privilege and a blessing to teach them each week. I've had wonderful opportunities over the years to serve as a Sunday School teacher, work with children, teenagers and adults, organize activities for large groups of people and preside over women's and children's organizations. Living my faith also includes obeying the Lord's commandments. I pay 10 percent of my increase to the Church, abstain from alcohol, tea, coffee and tobacco, refrain from premarital sexual relations, pray morning and evening, and pray to Heavenly Father to guide my life's decisions. I live my life knowing where I came from, why I'm on this earth, and where I'm going when I leave. I'm comfortable in my own skin. I know who I am and how to continue becoming better, repenting of my mistakes, always growing as a person. What an amazing way to live.
