Hi I'm Jared

I love to run. I'm a student, a member of the National Guard, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a full time student at a university. I enjoy running and working my body. I come from a loving family, and plan to start a family of my own after serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I enjoy music, and I play the French Horn in my university's marching band.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who are all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I continue being a member because the gospel brings me tremendous peace, joy, and security. It gives me a calm reassurance that I'm here for a reason and I have a purpose in life. I also know that this church is true. I have read the Book of Mormon several times, and the Spirit has witnessed to me undeniably that it is true. I know that through the gospel we can come unto Jesus Christ, and through Him we can be saved. We truly can have peace in this life and eternal life in the world to come. Basic Combat Training for the Army was tough. It's a rough, high stress environment to be in. Throughout BCT I relied on my faith to see me through. I found comfort in knowing that God was watching over me and keeping me safe. Any demeaning thing that anybody said was swallowed up in the knowledge that I'm a son of God. The gospel isn't just for after this life, it helps me now.

How I live my faith

I regularly pray and read the scriptures to learn more about God and eternal truths I help my mother organize and take care of the house. I am also preparing for a two year full-time mission in South Africa to help my brothers and sisters in this world come unto Christ.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

All Mormons are not required to serve a mission in order to qualify for membership in the church. However, all worthy young men have a duty to do so. We are not thrown out of the church if we don't, but we choose to serve a missions to serve God and thank Him for the great gift of His gospel. Young women can also serve missions if they choose to.
