Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a wife and a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, marketing major, and a wedding photographer located in Utah. I love to read books, take pictures, watch movies with my husband, and craft! Spending time with my family is always my favorite thing to do! I was born into the Church and have been a member all of my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be baptized and confirmed a member at the age of 8. My Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ love me unconditionally perfect, and the Atonement helps me remember to be strong, and that I can always be forgiven. The values and standards of this faith really help stabilize me in this tough world! The Plan of Salvation completes my life, and my understanding of forever families, has been brought up from the knowledge of those plans He created for us. I love the standards of this Church, I love the values of a good-life and I love the guidance and advice given from our First Presidency, Quorum of the Twelve and other General Authorities. I've never found so much happiness in my entire life, than I have with this gospel. :)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by working on myself and my relationship with God. I do my best to read my scriptures everyday and to pray to my Heavenly Father morning and night. It's not always easy, and I slip up every now and then, but I always make sure to involve the Lord in everything that I do. I spend my time sharing the gospel any chance I get on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram and more! I want others to share the same happiness that I have, and by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, I know they can have it too. I attend the temple weekly, and do different ordinances each time. It's so nice to remember the covenants and promises I made with God in the temple, and to be able to perform those ordinances for someone who has passed on, makes it that much more special. I am also a blogger and strive to share the gospel through my blog. I love every opportunity I have to live my faith by example, member missionary opportunities and through my family and friends.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Ashley
Members attending Sunday services will most likely be wearing their “Sunday best,” which may include suits, sport coats, and ties for the men and modest dresses or skirts for the women. Children also typically dress up for Sunday. Members of the Church celebrate Christmas and Easter, regarding these two events as the most spiritually significant days in history because of the birth, suffering, death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Church members also celebrate the regional and national holidays of the countries where they live. Church members also celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and similar events. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Ashley
In our Savior Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father, the President of the Church. First Presidency, 12 Apostles and other General Authorities of the Church! Also, our parents and religious leaders in church, seminary and Institute! Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Ashley
For those who are looking to join, I would meet up with LDS Missionaries (and you can find some in your area and/or online to get in contact with.) Take the discussions from the missionaries, and SINCERELY read the Book of Mormon with "real intent" asking God in faith and trust that whatever they are teaching you is true. As you take those steps, and become more knowledgeable of the gospel, your testimony with grow, and as you commit to the commandments of the Lord, you will be ready to become a member :) Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Ashley
Yes, they can be together forever. Through the sealing ordination in the Temples of the Lord. In the right place, at the right time, by the right authority. I know families can be together forever. I do not believe in "'till death do us part." There is no way our Heavenly Father would bless us with the beautiful families we have, here on earth, and then separate us after we pass. Families are forever. Always. Mormons believe families are forever. We will be with our loved ones again. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Ashley
We believe that we will live with our Father in Heaven, and our loved ones again. We believe that we shall all be resurrected when Jesus Christ comes again. Our body and spirit shall join, never to separate again. Being sealed in the temple allows us to see our loved ones again in life after death. Our Savior Jesus Christ atoned for our sins that we may be forgiven and live in Heaven again. Families are forever, and you can be together forever. Show more Show less
