Hi I'm Ben

I am a dad, a husband, and a therapist. I love to cook, laugh and play outside. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 2 children. I love cooking. I am in the final years of my graduate work in Psychology. I am an Eagle Scout. I am actively involved in Boy Scouts of America, The American Cancer Society and Luekemia/Lymphoma Society.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church, but my parents raised me to be excepting of all religious beliefs. Having grown up all over the world, I have met many great people. I never questioned what I believed until our son was diagnosed with cancer when he was 3-years-old. At that time, I found myself soul searching what I truly believed. Through our 26 month ordeal I came to realize that my religious beliefs helped me find peace that if my family was to be separated in this life, my eternal family would continue into the next life. My membership in the church has not only helped me through many challenging trials in life, but has given my marriage an anchor that has supported my wife and I through difficult times and amazing moments. We have become best friends and the thought of spending eternity without my best friend would be horrible.

How I live my faith

I've had the opportunity to meet with various indivduals as a teacher, leader, working with families in their home and serving as a missionary in Argentina for 2 years as a young man. I try to live my faith by a simple idea -"Get up each day and run as fast as I can to be the best father, husband, and me as possible". Some days I'm a world class marathon runner, other days I'm a toddler...but regardless I get up the following day and keep running.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Ben
Missionaries will teach many important truths about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My favorite lesson is about the Eternal Family. As my parents become older and as a young father holding my son in the hospital, this simple truth has been the basis of my hope and spiritual progression. To be with my family forever is the most important thing in my life. Show more Show less
