Hi I'm Brent

I grew up mostly in Utah but have lived in several other states for short periods. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering and have worked as a Software Engineer for most of my carrier. I am married and have 5 kids.

Why I am a Mormon

Since my parents were members when I was born many would say that is why I am a member. I choose to remain a member because I believe that God gives guidance to his children through the church. While prayer is always available, we communicate to through prayer when we choose and concerning what we want. We can receive information from God through the church and verify the communication through prayer.

How I live my faith

My religion is more like a life philosophy. Accept and promote everything that is good and true. While I am still working on many things that is my goal. Whether it is a better technical solution at work or a religious principle, truth is truth. The LDS church has been involved in scouting and I have had the opportunity of working with the eleven year old scouts. I think that scouting is a wonderful organization that promotes principles that society can agree on. If we could teach youth and everyone to obey the scout oath and law many of our problems would go away.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

The financial costs of a mission are the responsibility of the missionary. When I went on my mission I paid for it. My son is on a mission and I am paying for it. I have also contributed to another missionary. So the missionary needs to make arrangements to have the cost of their mission covered by themselves, family or other friends. I consider it a privilege to help support those who will represent the church well and improve the world. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Of course there is a prophet. Why would God not have a prophet now? We need his guidance as much now as we ever have in history. I do not believe that God has lost interest in us. A prophet is the way that God has communicated to people throughout history. Show more Show less
