Hi I'm Lansing

I grew up in Tucson. I won the Mr. Mountain View contest at my high school. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am just about as humble of a guy as you're going to find. I recently returned from serving in the Argentina, Resistencia Mission. I am going to college, studying microbiology. I love to longboard and play soccer. I am the youngest of six siblings, and probably the best looking out of all of them as well

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon not because of any single, amazing spiritual event in my life that my testimony is based on. Rather, I base my testimony on many small and simple experiences in my life that together have let me know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that God has called a living prophet today. I am so grateful for my family as well, who are also an example to me of the many blessings and the great joy that comes from living the gospel of Jesus Christ

How I live my faith

I am currently the ward mission leader of the University 1st ward in the Tucson North Stake. I am responsible for the missionary efforts of the ward and to be an example to them by opening mouth to my friends who do not have the gospel in their lives.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I just gave a lesson about this one, so while it's still fresh on my mind... I believe that we come to know our Father in Heaven the same way we come to know anyone else, mainly, 1. spending more time with them, and 2. try to be more like them 1. we obviously can not be with our Heavenly Father physically in this life all of the time, but we can spend more time with Him spiritually. As we read and ponder the scriptures, attend religious activities, and pray more meaningfully we find ourselves learning more and more about the love that God has for us. And once we know about it, we can begin to recognize that love in our own lives. 2. In John 17:3 we learn that we must know God in order to obtain eternal live. And in 1 John 2:3-6, John teaches how... by keeping His commandments. Show more Show less

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

The services that we attend on most Sundays consist of three parts: First, the sacrament, where we remember and worship our Savior Jesus Christ, and hear inspired messages by our fellow members pertaining to the gospel that we can apply to our lives. Second, we attend whats called Sunday school and sit in a small classroom setting, further developing our understanding of the gospel using the scriptures. And lastly, we go to a class that helps us better learn and apply our responsibilities as men or women. All of these meetings are very open and the topics discussed designed to be easily applied into our own lives, allowing us to come one step closer to becoming like our Father in Heaven. Everyone is very welcome, because no one is perfect and we all can do better. I like to thing of it as a spiritual hospital, where we can go and be treated by the healing power of Jesus Christ's sacrifice. Show more Show less
