Hi I'm Walker

I'm a runner. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! My name is Walker. I am a senior in University studying economics. I am an avid sports fan loving to watch and play almost any sport. I love the outdoors and enjoy fishing, hiking, snowboarding, running, biking and swimming. I have ran several marathons and triathlons and strangely like the feeling of being dead tired after a race.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it has helped me to understand the great questions of life. These include Why are we here, Where did we come from and where do we go after death. I have been given answers to these important questions and now better understand that we are here on the earth to gain experience from the pain and hardships of this life. I have learned that the struggles of life are not given to break us, but are given to make us stronger and to define our character. There is great strength and peace that has come from understanding just this question of the many that have been answered through this church. I find greater strength and courage to face the trials of life, not that they become any easier but I see them as an opportunity to grow, learn and as refining experiences that will help me better understand who I am. This life would be meaningless without the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He came to this earth to redeem all men. His life and subsequent death and resurrection make it possible for everyone to find peace and joy in the context of His teachings. I have come to know as I have prayed to God and searched Holy Scripture, in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, that the complete teachings of Jesus Christ are found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Joy and indescribable peace have been realized in my life by knowing and understanding these truths.

How I live my faith

I have found that my faith is lived by quiet and simple means. It is lived by following the teachings of Jesus Christ and heeding the counsel of wise church leaders. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we believe that God continues to call Prophets as he has done in the past. The Prophet today, Thomas Monson, though an ordinary man has been called as God's mouthpiece in our day. His counsel has helped me to avoid many of the pitfalls that have consumed and destroyed the lives of others. I believe his teachings come directly from the Head of the Church, who is Jesus Christ. The words of the Prophet have blessed my life encouraging me to be my best and to follow Jesus Christ in greater faith.
