Hi I'm Susan

I am a mother and a grandmother. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 59 years old, a single mother of two wonderful sons and grandmother of 3 grandchildren. I adopted my children as infants from within my family. I taught school while my sons were growing up, then changed professions, becoming a registered nurse and, later, a Family Nurse Practitioner. I have my own medical clinic in my home and enjoy caring for my patients in that setting. I enjoy cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, and gardening. I love to read, listen to uplifting music, or settle down to an old classic movie from time to time. I find great happiness and joy when I'm with my family, being a mother and grandmother, and being there for my loved ones.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a Mormon, being in a family where gospel principles were taught and church attendance was an important part of our family life. As I grew into my teenage and young adult years, my own testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ sustained and strengthened me throughout the challenges of those years. I have a strong testimony that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored in it's fullness in our dispensation through the prophet Joseph Smith, that Christ is the head of His Church, and that He continues to lead and instruct all of His people through His living prophet, Thomas S. Monson. It is comforting to know that the Lord continues to guide us through continuing revelation in our day as He has through ancient prophets in previous dispensations. I believe the Bible and the Book of Mormon both testify of Christ. We are children of our Heavenly Father. We lived with Him before we came to earth. We are here for a purpose and, if obedient and faithful to His commandments, will have the blessing of living with Him again in the eternities with our families and loved ones. The restored gospel answers the important questions of who we are, where we came from, and what opportunities and blessings lie ahead after we've finished our time here on earth. My testimony of these truths is unwavering and sure.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings every Sunday. I teach in the women's organization of the church, which is called the Relief Society. I also am a visiting teacher, which means I am assigned to visit a couple of sisters each month, give them a short spiritual message, and be available to help and support them as needs arise. Most importantly, I try daily to live the principles of the gospel, serve others, keep the Lord's commandments, and be an influence for good to all those I associate with.
