Hi I'm Lorelei

I'm a Mormon. I'm a Wife, a Mother, and a Baba. I live in Canada. I love people, nature & wildlife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, mother & Baba (Ukrainian for grandmother). My special interests include my family, family history/genealogy, reading uplifting books, & enjoying nature.

Why I am a Mormon

Having grown up in another church, I felt like there were some things missing. Upon searching & praying to Heavenly Father, I was led to a missionary couple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (often referred to many as the Mormon church). As they taught me, I studied the scriptures & prayed to Heavenly Father for a witness as to whether the things which I was being taught were true or false. Through a time of sincere, humble prayer, I did receive a testimony that I had found what I had been missing in my life -- the complete fulness of the gospel. I know that Heavenly Father lives! I know that His son, Jesus Christ, lives! Having come forth from the grave, He had broken the bonds of death for me & all mankind! I know that the scriptures are truly the words of God to all of His children! I know that the heavens are open & that Heavenly Father does indeed speak to His children who will humble themselves before Him & listen to Him! I know that there is a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, on the earth & that he is indeed the Lord's mouthpiece to all who will listen to him! I leave these words here in the name of my Lord, Savior & Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

In my home Church ward, we have programs such as home teaching & visiting teaching. Since this may seem an unfamiliar thing to others, I will attempt to explain a bit about them. The home teaching is when the brethren of the church are assigned to visit & communicate with the members of our ward. Likewise, the visiting teaching is similiar, but it is the ladies visiting the other ladies. The bishop cannot totally watch over & be sure that all of the members are okay, so, though these programs, we can help our bishop to make sure that the other members are okay & not in any need of any kind. The calling, which I hold in our ward, is that of Family Search Indexer, with my responsibility being to check through records & transcribe the information on them to online forms for the use of those searching for information about their deceased ancestors and relatives.
