Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Hunter

I am a chess fanatic and a lover of learning. But most importantly, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children. I spent most of my life growing up in Utah. I love playing board and card games of any kind, especially chess. I want to graduate from college and teach high school chemistry and maybe someday become a college professor. I am currently serving a two-year mission for the church in Montana and Wyoming and seeing the Gospel of Jesus Christ change the lives of many people.

Why I am a Mormon

The main reason I am a member of the church is because I have seen the gospel work in my life. I went through some rough times growing up, trying to figure out who I was and what I wanted to do with my life. As I read from the scriptures, both the Bible and the Book of Mormon, I found comfort and answers to my questions. I also came to realize that my life was a lot simpler and more peaceful as I lived the things I had been taught as a youth, instead of trying to do things my way.

How I live my faith

Currently I live my faith everyday as a full-time missionary. Each day I have the opportunity to talk about our Savior Jesus Christ with as many people as I can. I have the blessing to see the change and happiness that comes into people's lives as they find the joy of the gospel. The big thing for me though is everyday trying to be a little better and stand a little taller. I have made plenty of mistakes; however, because of Christ's suffering I can do and be better each day. I try to pick one thing each day or week to improve on and work at it.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Hunter
There are so many blessings that come from daily reading the scriptures of God. One of these blessings is a knowledge that God exists and that He loves us. We can read of the stories of prophets and others that testify of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. Another great blessing from studying the scriptures is finding answers to the questions we have about daily life. Even though the stories found in the scriptures are thousands of years old, we each face similar circumstances as we go about each day. The Spirit also can teach us the things we need to know as we study, even when what we are reading has nothing to do with our questions. For me, the greatest blessing of all is a sense of peace and comfort. I have found strength to continue through my trials as I feast from the printed words of God. It is as if our Heavenly Father is there, encouraging me to hold on and endure, that things will get better. Show more Show less
