Hi I'm Danielle!

I'm in a sorority and I met my fiancée doing a fundraiser for Cancer Research. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a recent college graduate, I struggled with finding a full time job. It is difficult out there and sometimes can consume your existence but I am so thankful to have a job right now as I prepare to marry my best friend in December. My best friend and fiancée has taught me just how much the church means to me. He was not a member of the Mormon Church and I realized just how difficult not sharing the same spirituality would be. When I went to break up with him which took quite a lot of strength, he told me through tears, "Something very important in my life is going to change. Either I am going to lose you or I am going to have to change my religion." After 8 months of studying, reading, praying, and thinking, he decided to get baptized and joined the Mormon Church. By both of us having testimony of Jesus Christ, our relationship has only grown stronger. We love to bike ride, go shopping at local arts markets, see films, run, swim, visit with family, go on dates, cook, babysit, and do stuff that's free or artistic for local students. He also wants you to know that he is an AVID college football fan and knows the SEC like the back of his hand. We simply like to have fun! Filling the days are easy but fulfilling moments are hard to come by. Cherish those around you and enjoy life!

Why I am a Mormon

The Young Women Program that the church has is one of the best programs for a teenage girl to participate in. While going through those difficult years of my teens and dealing the anger and hurt from my parent's divorce, the church offered a safe place where I could grow and enjoy the fellowship of people with my same values. Girls Camp, which takes place for a week every summer for girls from age 12 to 17, strengthened my belief and faith in God. The night that my parents separated, I prayed for hours to God to end their fighting and make everything better. He responded with their divorce and I was so angry with Heavenly Father because that was not how I wanted my prayers answered but through spiritual growth, I was able to understand that I could have my own family someday. I can have a family that could last for eternity and I am so thankful for the church teaching me that showing me how I could break the cycle of divorce. In December, I am marrying my fiancée and we share the same faith and goal of having a lasting marriage. We communicate constantly our needs, wants, and problems. Through the support of the church, we have tools to keep our marriage strong and help us to raise our children when that time comes. I feel so blessed to have these things in my life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by going to church and keeping it an active part of my life. By praying and working to attain both spiritual and personal goals, I build my testimony of Christ. On my droid cell phone, I have downloaded the Latter Day Saints scripture of the day and it is a quick reminder of a guiding principle from the Bible or Book of Mormon that I can keep in my mind for that day.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormon is a nickname that was given to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mormons also go by the acronym LDS. With Christ in our name and a strong belief in Jesus Christ, God, and the Holy Ghost, yes, Mormons are Christians. Show more Show less
