Hi I'm Cory

I know that Jesus is the Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have two beautiful children who are both in college. I also have a beautiful and wonderful woman who is my wife, partner and best friend. My family is a great strength to me and the center of my life. I work in public relations and serve as a partner in my firm. I love fly fishing and being in the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe Jesus Christ is my personal savior and the savior of the world. He atoned for the sins and pains of the world for each and everyone of us. He lives. I have personally felt the blessing and mercy of his atoning sacrifice in my own life and know that everyone can participate in that greatest of all gifts. I am a Mormon because I know this is His Church. He is the head of it. He has had prophets and apostles under His direction throughout the ages, and does so today. I know that through the gift and power of the Holy Ghost we can all come to know Him personally. We can receive personal inspiration and revelation from him. We can be directed by a living prophet and 12 apostles who are under His direction. The heavens are not closed. In this time when we need the love and direction of a loving Heavenly Father more than ever in the history of the world, I am comforted to know that we do. He loves each of us. He listens and answers our prayers. He is there and like any father desires only the best for each of us, His children, only asking that we love him, love our fellow brothers and sisters on this earth, and do what we need to do to return back to him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by continually trying to make the principles Jesus teaches central to my life and to the life of my family. By doing so the storms of the world are easier to bare, comfort and joy come by obeying his commandments, and a fulfilling inner peace is found. We pray daily for faith in the Savior's plan of salvation and the strength to do the right things. We read the scriptures frequently to learn and receive holy guidance and direction. We attend our Church meetings to learn about the Savior and to serve others. The Church is an organization of lay leadership and participation. Most every member has the opportunity to serve in one capacity or the other. In my role, I have the opportunity to serve side by side with other men and women who provide service to children in the children's organization called Primary, with the young men and young women during service projects and faith based activities, within the men's organization or Priesthood serving the families of our neighborhood and congregation, and even with the local group of Relief Society members--one of the largest and oldest faith-based women's organizations in the world. It is a joy to see the blessings of the Lord poured out on people of faith everywhere. It is a great joy to see those blessings poured out among our local congregation as people work and serve each other and the Lord.
