Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Start a chat or call us at 1-888-537-6600.

Hi I'm Tanner

I grew up in Colorado. I'm a college student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending college and am majoring in accounting. I enjoy playing and watching sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that God continues to speak to us through his prophets. I have received many blessings as a result of following the teachings of Jesus and the guidance of the prophets. I had the privilege of spending two years in Brazil as a missionary, and I was able to see the gospel of Jesus Christ change the lives of the people that I taught. The gospel is what helps me to find true happiness in my life.

How I live my faith

I plan small weekly activities to spend time with other college students. We talk about the gospel and play games and eat treats.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Tanner
I believe that we have just as much need for a prophet today as the people in biblical times. God loves all of his children equally so it makes sense that he would have a prophet on the earth today too. I have prayed to know if Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God and I have felt the spirit confirm to me that he is. I have been blessed by following his counsel and know that God speaks to us through him. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Tanner
We don't have paid clergy because we believe that we can all help each other. We all receive "callings", which are responsibilities to serve in different positions within the church. Periodically, we are given new callings and are able to serve in different areas of the church. I have been able to serve as a leader among the other young men, a librarian, a teacher and a missionary. We don't expect monetary compensation for the contributions we make because we believe that we have a responsibility to serve God by serving his children. Show more Show less
