Hi I'm Steve

I'm a drummer. I'm a bowler. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 21 years old. I love making music, listening to music, bowling, and the feeling of completing everything on my to-do list. I have 4 brothers, no sisters.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the road God wants for me. I know that this is the true Church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I know that He restored His church through the modern prophet, Joseph Smith. I know these things because I have read the Book of Mormon. I have put it to the test, praying to God, asking if that book is true. I felt a great sense of peace and calm. I felt quiet. I don't know how to describe it really, but I do know that what I felt was an answer from God that the Book or Mormon, and as a result, Joseph Smith, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are all true. I know that God loves me and wants me to be happy. I know that following this road is the way to achieve that happiness.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve throughout my life. I have been a teacher, a youth leader, played the piano in meetings, and had the privilege of frequently visiting families, helping them to strengthen their faith. I read from the scriptures daily. I recently started a study of the Old Testament. I pray to my Heavenly Father at least everyday, usually even more often than that. I attend church meetings in my local branch each week. I try to do what Jesus would do if he were in my place.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Steve
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the most important thing that ever happened. Without the Atonement, there would be no way for us to return to the presence of our loving Heavenly Father. No unclean thing can enter His presence, and Christ's Atonement makes it possible for us to be forgiven of our mistakes, through repentance. Jesus Christ sacrificed His life for us. He suffered for all things for everyone of us, so that we don't have to if we will trust in and follow Him. Also, He died and was resurrected so that each of us will be able to overcome death.
