Hi I'm Jennifer Irene

I'm a freshman in college. I'm a little sister. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Jen, I'm a freshman in college. I am not entirely sure what my major is going to be- but right now I'm in medical assisting. I love running, and I love to hang out with my friends and just talk and laugh. I love hamburgers and food eating contests.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was eight years old, and was raised in the church. But when I was older, I found that I needed to be converted myself. Through scripture study, fasting, and fervent prayer, I was able to come to know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I was able to know my Savior through reading the scriptures and prayer. I was able to hear His voice as I read the scriptures. I have a testimony of the Gospel, and I know that it is true.

How I live my faith

I love my ward- my ward is the area in which I attend church. My ward consists of many of my neighbors and I have lots of friends in my ward. I have the opportunity to get to know everyone in my ward, and love each opportunity I get. Every Monday my ward has Family Home Evening, and we are able to gather together and learn and grow in the gospel. I have been asked numerous times to assist in these gatherings by teaching a lesson, giving a prayer, or even bringing treats.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Jennifer Irene
Temple attendance depends on worthiness. If a Mormon is worthy- according to a Bishopric member- that member will receive a temple recommend. As a worthy temple recommend holder- temple attendance can begin. There are no secrets in the temple. The temple is sacred and important, so the dealings in the temple are not often openly discussed. Within the temple, we are able to perform work for those who have already passed on. This work is sacred and important. Show more Show less
