Hi I'm Alex

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sports, cooking, doing anything outdoor, watching movies, playing board games, and going out and having fun. Sometimes I just enjoy going on a long hike or bike ride to clear my mind and reflect upon life.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. One of the main reasons why I am member of the Church is because we have a living Prophet on the earth to lead and guide us down the path that the Lord would have us go. We live in a time of great confusion and doubt. I'm thankful that we have a representative from God to help guide us through the difficult challenges and questions we all have about life. Questions like where we are from, why we are here, and where we are going? We have modern day revelation to direct us down the path of righteousness. Because of these modern day Prophets and Apostles I have a much clearer view of my life and the things I need to do get return to my Heavenly Father. The more I follow the commandments of God the more he blesses my life. This is a promise from the Lord found in the Book of Mormon. He promises those who possess this land (ie. America. But I'm sure the same promise to those in any other countries) that if you keep the commandments the Lord will prosper you in the land. I have seen this in full affect in my life. There was a time I wasn't as obedient and then I changed my life around. I started striving to keep the commandments and do all the things the Lord, and his servants, asked of me. Since that time my life has grown exponentially and I am blessed far more than I feel I deserve. The Lord is always willing to open the windows of Heaven and pour down blessings upon us if we will just keep his commandments and do his will.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as leader working with a group of men in the church. Though I often feel inadequate in this position, I know that this is what the Lord wants me to do. I strive to serve the men in my best to the best of my abilities with direction from the Lord and his spirit. I love doing home teaching. Home teaching is an assignment each male priesthood holder has to watch over certain members of the ward. I have the privilege of sharing a gospel message with them each month, and helping them with anything else they may need (ie. blessings, help moving, rides, etc..) I love doing service. I love helping people move (It's like getting a work out and playing Tetris all at the same time), cleaning the church building, doing community service projects, and just helping people with any task they might not be able to figure out and I have some knowledge about. What is the point of having knowledge if we don't use it.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Only members of the church keeping the standards of the gospel can enter the temple. The temple is the holiest place on earth. Thus those who enter the temple should be in harmony with the spirit and the commandments the Lord requires them to keep. Anyone can go in the temple if they are willing to keep the commandments of God. People who enter in the temple make additional covenants with the Lord and do work for those who have passed on without having the opportunity to accept the gospel while they were here on earth. Why is family so important to Mormons?

The family is central to the "Plan of Salvation". That plan is that we find joy through creating life and that by bringing life into this world it helps us to understand the power of creation and the joy of creation that much more. We are all children of our Heavenly parents and once we understand that we realize we are all brothers and sisters and should love one another. Christ truly understood this principle and lived it when he was on the earth. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Keep your computers in a public place in the home. If you ever feel tempted to look at pornography do not use your computer when you are alone. Wait till people are around so the temptation isn't as strong. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are the greatest most precious creations/children of God. There is not equality of women and men in the church. Women are far greater and more lovely, by nature, then men are. There are so many great women that have influenced my life and have helped inspire me to want to be a better man, and future father. Show more Show less
