Hi I'm Katy

I believe...

About Me

I am a mother of 2 wonderful young children! I love being a mom and being able to stay at home with them. Before I had them I loved using my degree and working in a flower shop and being able to do arrangements with all the beautiful flowers! My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have a wonderful history together.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church in 1994. It was the fall after I graduated high school. My husband, who I was dating at the time, asked me to take the missionary discussions. I had seen the example set by him and his family and my many friends who were also members, living in a prodominate LDS area. I took the missionary discussions and felt the spirit very strong and did all the reading in the Book of Mormon that they gave me to study. Through lots of prayer I came to know my Savior and that Heavenly Father loves me. I know now that I am a daughter of God and that this is his true church.

How I live my faith

Right now I have been called or asked to serve in the Cub Scouts. I am now the den leader of the Webelos, who are the 10 year old boys. I was with the group right before them, with my son and then when he moved up so did I! I enjoy my other calling, visiting teaching. My partner and I have been able to get to know a couple of the sisters better than we would have other wise. I love getting together with different sisters and talking with them and learning from them. We all come from different walks of life and can learn from each other. I also enjoy getting into the school and volunteering. What better way to know what is going on than to be there and seeing it first hand. It is great being able to serve the teachers and the students!

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Absolutely! This is one principle of the church that I just love. Heavenly Father would not give us our families to have here on earth and then that's it. When we are married we are sealed in the temple for all time and eternity, a lot more promising than to death do you part. I love the comfort that knowing our families are sealed together that I will see my grandparents again, and I will one day be together with my whole family after we pass from this earth! What do Mormons believe about family?

Mormons believe that family is first and foremost! Family should be loving and kind and always there to support each other. Families come in many different forms, but Heavenly Father has given us our families to love here on earth and know that we can have eternal families! Show more Show less
