Hi I'm Mike

I love architecture, surfing, photography, graphic design, and the outdoors and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Northern Utah and loved the outdoors. I spent a lot of my life skiing, backpacking, camping, mountain biking, and kayaking. I had a great group of friends help me find a testimony of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 18. I then served as a missionary in Scotland. After my mission I came home and attend college where I graduated in Urban Planning. I now am attending graduate school in architecture. Since there is no snow here in Hawaii I took too surfing. If you can't find me with my wife, at the temple, at church, or school you can probably find me where the surf is good.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young man I often tried to find truth. Sometimes this lead me down paths that weren't always positive. At 17 and 18 years old I had a great group of friends teach me more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I grew up in this church but until that point had never taken an active role. After a lot of backpacking, skiing, and outdoor adventure talks I realized I hungered to feel what they felt. I realized that this church could change my life. Since that time it has changed my life. I know that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me, that Jesus Christ is my Savior and through him I can be saved from my sins, and that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and through divine power translated an ancient record of scripture which is the Book of Mormon. Which teaches us Gods plan for us here on earth and how to return to live with him again.

How I live my faith

Currently I am helping out with the men in church and help teach and build faith. I also try to help out with the boy scouts and youth at the church.
