Hi I'm Jonathan
I'm a Mormon.
I'm a university student in my junior year. I'm studying with the hopes to go to medical school. I want to go into medicine so that I can spend my life helping others. I enjoy being outdoors fishing or hiking, and spending time with my family.
Why I am a Mormon
Although I grew up in the church, I was never satisfied with what others said. For me, I've always had an "I have to know for myself" attitude. I started by reading the scriptures. As I read them, I started to make changes in my life. I gained for myself the knowledge that God is real. Then, the President of the Church asked everyone to read the Book of Mormon. I decided to take the challenge and read the book in a few months. As I read, I connected with the people in it and their situations. I felt like they were real... not just characters. I also felt their love for the Savior, and I began to feel His love in my own life. I knew from this that the Book of Mormon is true.
How I live my faith
One of the great things about the church is that there are always ways to become involved. For one thing, there are lots of opportunities to donate to charitable causes that the church undertakes. I try to do that monthly. I also get to help by supervising one of our gospel instruction classes on Sundays. It's great to be able to watch the class members grow in their faith and to work with the instructor to facilitate that growth.
