Hi I'm Stacy

I live in Utah. I'm married and we have four children. We love doing things together especially going to Lake Powell. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I graduated from college with a BS, with a major in Elementary Education and a French minor. I met my husband my last year of college. We have two girls and two boys. I love to cook, snow ski, water ski, and I'm a beginning snowboarder. I also like to play games on my iphone.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that belonged to this church, but I didn't always believe in it. As a child we went to church every Sunday and that was ok. The older I got I was not interested in religion, but I continued to go to church because that is what we did. My friends weren't interested in religion either. I had experiences with the Holy Ghost that reinforced the things I had learned in church, for instance honesty. One time when I was thirteen I accidentally burned a hole in our kitchen linoleum. My first impression was to walk away and if questioned act like I didn't know anything about it. Then I felt an impression to go tell my mom what had happened. After a bit of a struggle with that impression I decided to tell my mom and try out the "honesty thing". Something I had always learned in church. I found my mom and I showed it to her and she said it was no big deal. Right then and there I decided that what I had learned in church was right. It's best to tell the truth. From then on when I saw the hole in the linoleum I felt good inside for doing something that was hard but that I knew was the right thing to do. I still wasn't interested in religion though until my senior year of high school. I began to think about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. How did I want to live? Did I believe what I had been taught? Was there a God that cared about me? Was there a Savior that died for me? Was "The Book of Mormon" another book of scripture? I decided to start reading "The Book of Mormon". I took notes to keep track of the people and their experiences. I got to the end of the book and I prayed to know if it was the word of God. As I thought about the people and their stories my "heart burn(ed) within"* me. I felt the Holy Ghost telling me it was a testimony of Jesus Christ and of His true principles that I should live my life by and teach my children such as faith, courage, hard work, repentance, integrity, service, etc. *Luke 24:32

How I live my faith

The most important way I feel I can live my faith is by teaching my children about the Atonement and be an example to them of the principles Christ taught while he lived on the earth and that he has revealed to prophets. I also serve in our church youth program for the young women ages twelve to eighteen. I try to remember God every day in my life through reading the scriptures and asking myself "What would God want me to do?" Then when I make mistakes I swallow my pride and I use the Atonement by repenting. I try to love others and treat them the way I would want to be treated.
